Osama bin Laden’s top deputy, Ayman Al-Zawahri on August 4, 2005:
  • Said British Prime Minister Tony Blair was to blame for the London bombings and that Blair’s support of the U.S.-led war in Iraq would incite further attacks.  "Our message is clear: you will not be safe until you withdraw from our land, stop stealing our oil and wealth and stop supporting the corrupt rulers," He also said: we have offered you a truce if you leave the land of Islam.” (MSNBC 8/4/05)

Al-Zawahri on November 29, 2004:
  • “Either you choose to treat us with respect and based on an exchange of interests ... or we will continue to fight you until you change your policies.” (MSNBC 11/29/04)
