Support of Immokalee Workers
On September 30, members of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW)-- a farmworker organization from Immokalee, FL--will be stopping in St. Petersburg as part of a state-wide "Focus on Florida" mini tour to bring people together for education and action around its currentcampaign against Miami-based Burger King.

Please make plans to join the CIW for the following events in St. Petersburg on Sunday, September 30th:

The CIW has already secured two groundbreaking agreements with both Yum Brands and McDonald's to improve wages and working conditions for thousands of Florida tomato pickers in those companies' supply chains, and has now turned its "Campaign for Fair Food" to Miami-based Burger King, asking them to do the same.

And yet, in the face of this historic opportunity to improve the lives of the men and women who pick its tomatoes, Burger King has refused to work with the CIW, an act which threatens to undermine the hard-won advances established in the Yum Brands and McDonalds agreements.
