General Dynamics sends employees
home early to avoid protest!

They're not afraid of selling military equipment to Gaddafi... but they must be afraid of their employees reading our signs!
Protest successful before it even starts!
General Dynamics employees were told to leave work at 3:00pm - one hour before a protest was to begin
in front of their building in St. Petersburg. At 4:00pm, about
three dozen people held a vibrant demonstration denouncing the weapons
manufacturer for selling military equipment to Libyan dictator Moammar
Gaddafi.

International Women's Day
(March 8) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and
social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places
like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, IWD is a national
holiday. Since the United States doesn't have a national holiday
for women, the least we can do is honor women who lead the peace
movement. Among others, Aruhdhati Roy, Naomi Klein, Phyllis
Bennis, CODEPINK, Amy Goodman, Cindy Sheehan, and Eve Ensler are
leading the way internationally. Locally, women have led the way
for the past seven years in the fight for peace and social justice - here are some pictures of those remarkable women (sorry for those not included - there are many more of you).
