Details
Answer the call for peace and justice on the two-year anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq! Please join St. Pete for Peace and St. Pete Food Not Bombs on Saturday, March 19, as we take a stand against imperialistic wars and celebrate our solidarity with oppressed people both at home and abroad.

We’ll be speaking the truth to power and building community all afternoon with music, tabling, an open mic and a march in downtown St. Petersburg. We will also be creating an open letter/mural which will depict, in both words and pictures, our thoughts and feelings about war and occupation. Please be prepared to add your own words, pictures or photographs to this community anti-war expression. It will be delivered to Senator Bill Nelson’s Tampa office with an associated press conference in the days following the event to let him know that we disapprove of his cooperation with the Bush administration with respect to the continued occupation of Iraq and funding of the U.S. war machine.

Bring a friend, bring your family, bring your drum circle or bring your affinity group. And if you are a member of a local activist organization, please be sure to bring literature to share. All are welcome – this will be a great opportunity to network with other groups and individuals and to find out how you can support progressive causes in the Tampa Bay area.
