Protest of the NSA spying program - Tampa, FL - June 21, 2013
In 1755, Benjamin Franklin wrote, "Those who would give up essential
Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty
nor Safety." We believe Franklin's words hold true today, and
would further argue that spying on American citizens' email and phone
calls does nothing to add to national security.

WHY SENATOR NELSON'S OFFICE?
A statement from Nelson said he backed the "lawful use
of court-approved electronic surveillance to protect Americans from
terrorist attacks and criminal suspects."
Nelson also described Edward
Snowden, the person who heroically exposed the NSA spying program, as
someone who committed an act of treason.“This is deliberately
taking highly, highly super-compartmented classified information and
giving it directly out,” Nelson told CNN, according to
talkingpointsmemo.com. “He ought to be prosecuted under the law.
Extradited and prosecuted. We cannot have national security if our
secrets cannot be kept.”
But we believe it is Senator Nelson, and all those who disregard the
4th Amendment by supporting the NSA Prism program, who are the traitors.

WHERE DOES PRESIDENT OBAMA STAND ON THE NSA SPYING ISSUE?
In his 2009 inaugural address, Obama claimed that “we reject as
false the choice between our safety and our ideals.” But
now, in defending the NSA Prism program, Obama says, “You
can’t have 100 percent security and also then have 100 percent
privacy. … We’re going to have to make some choices as a
society.”
It was also revealed that Obama is implementing an unprecedented initiative known as the Insider Threat Program
which requires federal employees to keep closer tabs on their
co-workers and exhorts managers to punish those who fail to report
their suspicions.
The case against Edward Snowden is the seventh
under President Barack Obama in which a government official has been
criminally charged with leaking classified information to the media.
Under all previous presidents, just three such cases have been brought.
