Chechen rebels leading ISIS?
A
few articles are appearing stating that Chechen rebels are leading
ISIS. Here's
an article from al-Jazeera, and
one from NY Daily News.
This is very interesting in the context of Russia's long battle with
the Chechens rebels, and the US support of the Chechen rebels during
the Bush years at least:
"In the US, the leading group which pleads the Chechen cause is the American
Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC).
The list of the self-styled "distinguished Americans" who are its
members is a rollcall of the most prominent neoconservatives who so
enthusastically support the war on terror." Here's another
good article on the topic.
It is unclear if the commitee (led by Zbignew Brzezinski with members
Richard Perle, Larry Diamond, Caspar Weinberger, James Woolsey, Rober
Kagan (Victoria Nuland's husband), Elliot Abrams, Geraldine Ferraro,
William Kristol, Frank Gaffney, and Richard Gere (the actor) is still
active.

(One
of Obama's allies in this 'fight against ISIS' is Saudi Arabia, a
country that beheaded 23 people in August, and
does not allow women to vote, drive, or go out in public without being
accompanied by a man (read "Eleven things women in Saudi Arabia can't
do")
and then laugh at the hypocrisy of them being part of Obama's
"coalition" to stop ISIS from beheading people and imposing Sharia Law.)
