FTAA
Protests
November, 2003

Note
On
a positive note, the FTAA
meetings were not as successful as
pro-globalization officials
had hoped. The meetings were cut one day short, reportedly
because of tensions between countries in the meetings, and due to the
amount of protest being expressed outside.
Although
trade
negotiators didn't get everything they wanted from the meeting, this
fight is far from over. The Bush administration will keep pushing
for
relaxed trade barriers and economic policies that hurt workers.
It is
up to all of us to stand together against free trade and to demand fair
trade.
